It's no secret DeFi is disrupting traditional finance at an atomic speed and AKash has the best possible solution to make DeFi truly censorship-resistant and reduce gas and development costs. A permissionless and decentralized cloud infrastructure is imperative to ensuring DeFi remains sovereign and becomes more accessible.

It made complete sense for us to serve the industry we're in first. That's why we are going to offer a vertically integrated, easy to use, and hyper-scalable DeFi backed by AKash Platform.

The AKash Supercloud will enable DeFi projects to decouple from the big cloud providers like AWS, Azure, Google, etc., reducing their costs and moving towards true decentralization and community empowerment.

AKash captures value using AKT, where 20% of revenues (from hosting fees) are distributed to Stakers. AKT holders benefit the more demand there is from DeFi applications on AKash.

What are the advantages of AKash's decentralized cloud and the existing model? Why use decentralized cloud?

Cloud infrastructure -- the back bone of the Internet -- is increasingly becoming centralized, controlled by an oligopoly of four companies (Amazon’s AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft’s Azure and Alibaba).

The mission of AKash is to break this oligopoly using a decentralized network of computing clusters (data centers), and offering resources in a peer-to-peer marketplace to build resilient and unstoppable applications at 10X to 15X less than what you would pay in the market today.

AKash offers a unique set of value propositions to customers currently using the cloud:

1. Lower cost: AKash users set the price, providers compete to win the work at that price. This way the price is always lower because it’s naturally driven by the laws of demand and supply.

2. Unstoppable: an application running on AKash can only be stopped by its owner. This ensures resiliency.

3. Improved productivity: A human centric design that lets developers do more with less.

4. Private and Permissionless: The application is secured even with someone who has physical access to the server and no one can stop you from using AKash

AKash also provides the world's most sophisticated tool chain that’s optimized for modern workflows where developers can achieve their goals with the least number of steps possible.

How does AKash Cloud ensure that every user uses at the lowest cost?

1. It will be cheaper because market participants can actively demand lower costs.

2. Suppliers of cloud compute are not like AWS, Alibab, or other large centralized cloud providers, so they will naturally want to charge cheaper rates to have their excess capacity sold.

3. Most powerfully, with blockchain, our token economic incentives create subsidies that exponentially reduces compute costs. Without blockchain, we can save developers 2-3X on their cloud bills. With our tokenomics, those savings can reach as high as 15X.

How to understand AKash as "unstoppable cloud"?

There are two things that make AKash "unstoppable"

1. True decentralization making censorship and network shutdown impossible b/c our network will be fully distributed globally and not under anyone's control. Cloud applications hosted on AKash are censorship resistant, meaning the applications can be controlled only by the owner of the key-pair.

2. Scalability. With 85% of underutilized cloud capacity in 8.4 million data centers, AKash provides unlimited access to all network resources at any time–thus removing barriers to scalability

The supermini is a mini supercomputer for the home that allows anyone to plug-in-and-earn by supplying compute capacity to the network. The supermini can be used by anyone, even non technical people. Our inspiration comes from the incredible work done by the Helium team with their Hotspots.

COSMOS: AKash Network’s partnership with Cosmos’s Interchain Foundation (ICF), and our integral contribution to the development of IBC protocol will enable us to adopt and benefit from interchain technologies faster than any other company.

Could you briefly introduce the AKash token model?

AKash is a sovereign, Proof-of-stake chain that uses a native token AKT as the primary means to secure the blockchain and provide a default mechanism to abstract (store/exchange) value.

AKash also supports a multi-currency settlement mechanism to solve for velocity and volatility of exchanging value. However, the market order book uses AKash Token (AKT) as the reserve currency of the ecosystem. AKT provides a novel settlement option to lock in an exchange rate between AKT and the settlement currency. This way, providers and tenants are protected from the price volatility of AKT.

Additionally, the AKashian model also bootstraps early supply by subsidizing using inflation (i.e., borrowing from the future), and activates an incentive structure that not only fairly distributes, but will unlock network effects to accelerate growth.

The intrinsic value of AKT is derived from the earning potential, which has three main contributors that include a) Transaction Fees, b) Take Income from GMV (~20%) and c) Inflationary Rewards (54% at Genesis).
